Your audio and projects stay private
Your audio, presets and projects stay on your computer. Paid plugins contact FarField for activation and licence checks until permanent offline access is granted. One final online check grants permanent offline use when the purchase is eligible; no further automatic checks are required for that purchase on that computer. MATCH does not require activation. We collect no audio, project contents, usage analytics or crash reports through the plugins.
Activation uses a random computer credential, a hash linked to your purchase account, product entitlements and check timestamps. The credential and signed licences are encrypted on your computer, by Windows on a PC and by the plug-in itself on a Mac. We do not collect a hardware fingerprint. Plugins also save your presets and interface preferences locally.
What this website stores
- Your account and purchases. We store your current email address, an account identifier and purchase references. Stripe holds payment records. When you change email, your account identifier stays the same. We retain keyed hashes of previous addresses to prevent someone with an old mailbox from taking over your account.
- Account security. If you add a password, we store a salted password hash, never the password itself. For passkeys, we store public keys, names and verification counters; we do not receive fingerprints, face scans or device PINs. Recovery codes and browser-session tokens are stored as hashes. Verification challenges and keyed rate-limit records help prevent repeated sign-in attempts.
- Your email choices. The optional news choice at sign-up and the two unticked checkout choices let you ask for product news and updates. We store your current news preference, its source and when you chose it in your account; checkout choices are also recorded with the Stripe order. You can change the news choice in Account email preferences. Codes, receipts and support replies are sent as needed, separately from marketing.
- Activation and refund requests. We store a random computer-credential hash linked to your account, check timestamps, and refund-request references and timestamps. These let us activate purchases and hold permanent activation while a request is unresolved.
- A sign-in cookie. When you sign in, we set one cookie so the site knows it is you for thirty days. It contains no personal information.
- A checkout cookie. When you open the store, we set one cookie that binds an order to the browser that made it. It contains a random value and nothing else.
- Your selection. The products you tick in the store are kept in your own browser for the session. They never reach us.
We do not use advertising trackers or analytics. Stripe loads payment components at checkout. We do not sell your address; payment and email providers process it to deliver those services.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe, which collects your email address, billing address and card details directly. We never see or store your card number. Stripe is the controller of that data for its own purposes; see Stripe's privacy policy. We can see your email address, your billing country and what you bought.
Sign-in codes, refund notifications, support replies and any emails you asked for at checkout are sent by an email delivery provider on our behalf, which handles your address only to deliver them.
How long we keep it, and how to get rid of it
We keep purchase records for as long as tax law requires, and so that you can keep downloading what you paid for. Sign-in codes are deleted as soon as they are used, and expire after fifteen minutes regardless.
Email support@farfieldaudio.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Deleting your purchase record means we can no longer give you updates, so we will say so before doing it. For news emails, change your choice in Email preferences, use the unsubscribe link in an email, or reply “stop”.
A computer with an issued permanent offline licence keeps working without your account record. Deleting records before that final unlock can prevent temporary licence renewal and activation, so we will explain the effect before completing the deletion.
